Please help me congratulate the Andrew Jackson GEAR UP academic challenge team for winning the GEAR UP academic trophy for this year. They have competed in what was to be a best "2 out of 3" challenge format between GEAR UP members from AJHS and LHS. After winning the 1st exhibition match, we gave them a break. We had practiced: they had not! The 1st "true" event was held this past January here at AJ, and you guys may remember that we were victorious! Our second match of the 2 out of 3 format, and our LAST match of the year resulted in AJ bringing the trophy home for a year. There is no need for a 3rd match! Next year starts a new opportunity for us to keep the trophy for another year.
