Daily Announcements

About 1/3 of our band members are in Region Band. That's a HUGE percentage. We normally have 1-2 students make Region Band and ocassionally have one student make the All-State call back audition. This year we had two students (Amber Holcomb and Bradley Wilson) make the call back audition and 10 students make Region Band. CONGRATULATIONS! The following students will attend the Region Band clinic at Nation Ford High School in Fort Mill on Friday, February 26 and Saturday, February 27 with a culminating concert on Saturday, February 27.

 Congratulations!

The Southern Division of the American Choral Directors Association holds a conference every other year.  At this conference they always feature a High School Men's Honor Choir and a High School Women's Honor Choir.  To audition for this choir, students from 11 different states send in audition tapes.  On these tapes they must sing an art song or an aria as well as several scales.  This year, over 1600 students from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia sent in tapes.  Out of these 1600 tapes, 300 were chosen to form the honor choirs.  We have the honor to have six students from Andrew Jackson High School chosen to participate in this event.  There were only 15 total students from South Carolina chosen!  The students from AJHS are Kendal Carnes, Katie Hinson, Sydney Phillips, Andrew Miles, Max Morris, and Daniel Reeves.  This is a great honor for these students, their parents, our school, and the state.  These students will be traveling to Memphis, Tennessee to participate in the choir March 10-13, 2010.
If you see these students, please congratulate them!
